Answering Your Questions About Dying

July 17, 2009 by Anna Farmery

Since losing people close to me, I have become desperate to understand more about the brain, about death and about dying. Not in a morbid way at all, just in a curious way. For anyone else who wants to understand more I have come across a site called How Stuff Works and especially their section on Death and Dying.

The reason why I like reading is that the more understand, the more I come to terms with the natural side of death. The more I understand the less I fear, the less I fear the more that I can cope with the idea of death.

Maybe for some people it is better not to know, but I have never been any different. I inherited from my Dad this sense of curiousity, this sense of wanting to understand how things work and almost an insatiable desire to learn. Maybe this site will help you, like it has helped me, to come to terms with the unknown.beautiflmodelvswall.jpg

Hi! I am so sorry for your loss. I have lost several people close to me as well and have learned that grief is a process that we have to walk through and that it is different for every single person. One thing is common though…you can’t rush it and it shows up at the weirdest time (like when you are out shopping and that can of corn reminds you of your loved one’s amazing corn chowder…etc.).

It is hard to lose someone to death. I miss them very much, but I KNOW one day I will see them again in heaven.

There are a couple of books I have read that I would recommend to anyone who has questions about dying and the after-life. One is by Randy Alcorn, and is called “Heaven” and the other is called “90 Minutes in Heaven” (Don Piper). Both are excellent.

Blessings, Peace and Comfort to you.

Death is… the ultimate end for all human beings. It’s hard to talk about it seeing as I don’t really know that much about death or the supposed afterlife.

We will all die someday. It is not wise to fear death, but it is beneficial to focus on living a good life for as long as we can. That is all I can say.

MB thanks for your comment and also for the idea of the books, I will check them out. I always say that I envy people who keeps or who has faith…although my faith is shaken I still believe we will be together again, which brings comfort.

John – don’t you think we fear what we can’t understand, or struggle to understand? Death is something that we can’t control and as human beings don’t you think we fear things we can’t control? Would be interested in your thoughts

Thank you for both stopping by, I love hearing others thoughts…it brings comfort
