Branching Out of Grief

I spent some time in my garden last night and pruned some of the overgrown bushes back. When I had finished, there were loads of glorious green leaves on the lawn, but as it started to rain I decided to leave them until tonight.
When I look at them now – it is still raining and they are still there! – the leaves are already dying, rotting, limp on the grass.
It just shows how nature only survives on constant nurturing. As humans we are the same, if we cut ourselves off from the outside world then we will wither and die in much the same way….the only way to blossom is to keep nurturing our heart and our soul.
So how do we feed ourselves
Friends and family
Energy – good sleep, good exercise
Eliminate what might have been and think what still could be
Diet (healthy)

Oh Anna, like so many things on this journey, easier said than done. I at least must make an effort to not be a hermit and to get involved, although I certainly know it would aid in the healing, most of the time. It is so different than when it was easy to be “out and about” and not feel this lack of confidence or not belonging, we just keep trying and when we fall down, we get back up. It is so wonderful to know there are others on this journey that share our trials and struggles. The 1st Annual Widows Conference was held in San Diego last weekend, I have not heard the final tally of those attending but the little I have read, if misery loves company we have a LOT of company, unfortunately and we all share so much that no one else can understand. The monthly “chats” have been a healing action and I thank you for organizing them and for being here.

Great ideas! I had those same ideas written in my book along with staying spiritually healthy, too.
Staying healthy (diet and exercise) alone have such great benefits!
