When you lose someone, you lose not just a partner of the heart but also a life partner. Self confidence can take a hit – who is going to sort out the bill paying, or who is going to do the garden? But inside you are a survivor and for all those tasks that your spouse used to do, see them as a challenge, your very own personal growth plan![]()
P= Purpose. We all feel as though we lose some purpose when we lose someone, taking on your spouse’s tasks is a way of bringing purpose into your life. It is also a way of showing your spouse – wherever they are watching- that you will not let them down, you will get through this loss and they can remain so proud of you.
L= Lists are wonderful ways of not forgetting things, they also give a great deal of satisfaction when you can tick items off!
A= Around you are loads of family and friends who will help…I know you don’t want to feel a burden but often they enjoy doing something practical for you. They feel at a loss what to say and by helping practically they feel more useful. Anyway, they can show you how to do it…be your teacher!
N= No task is beyond you…honestly! You are a star in your own right – do you know how I know? Because your spouse recognised it when they fell in love with you. You can learn, you can make a mistake but you will get it right….because you are you.
