Does your mind play tricks?

When we are inactive our mind almost seems to create thoughts, it is as though if we don’t give it something to think about it fills the void. When we are grieving it is even more important not to let your mind rule you. I know the feeling of just “can’t be bothered” or “nothing seems to matter” but to get through it, we need to keep active. These are some things that helped me and please feel free to add your own in the comments box.
Taking a walk
Cleaning! I can assure you not my favourite pastime but it does help.
Music…if you are in the house alone put the radio, tv or a cd on
Podcasts…I love these – so much so I started my own The Engaging Brand!
Write a blog about your experiences to help others
Go shopping
Visit galleries, or shows
Play a sport
Gardening…seems so peaceful
None of these are my hobbies, but they kept me occupied and made my life worthwhile. At the end of any of these activities I had achieved something.

yes, this is true. when one is alone in a quiet room in the house and no noise is projected, not only does the ears produce a “white noise” so to speak, the mind creates other noises that we wish to not hear. When alone, one can sometimes hear being called somewhere. The way to counter this is to keep some form of noise running.
