Grief can grip hold of anyone

I used to have 2 cats – they were sisters. One was fast asleep inside, the other had gone out when I got a knock on the door to say she had been run over. The curtains were closed there is no way that “Molly” could have seen the accident. But when I came back inside, Molly had moved from my bed and was laid under the bed with her chin on the floor with her paws over her eyes. Amazing, she was feeling grief. At the time I also had a Tom cat, who never came in and did not really get on with the others. He came in the next day, and went straight under the same bed. They stayed under the bed for
about a week.
It made me think that grief can hit anyone, and that where we think we are unique but even my cats could have a broken heart!
