Widows Quest

How Steve Irwin’s Widow is Coping

It is coming up to a year since the untimely death of Steve Irwin. The anniversary of the death is an awful time, and I think it a wonderful idea for Steve Irwin’s widow, Terri Irwin is taking the family back to the place they had their last family holiday together. The Sydney Herald reports

“Friends say Terri Irwin is determined to help her children cope as best they can. With Bob, 3, Bindi, 9, and two family assistants, she spent a short time in Cairns on Friday, stocking up on final supplies before chartering a plane which was heading to a remote wilderness region in northern Queensland….As she comes to grips with her first tough year as a widow and single mum, Terri Irwin is determined to shield her  claspedhands.JPG children from media attention.”

What a wonderful way to celebrate the happy times they had together but also allow the family to grieve in private.

That’s still one of those deaths that haunts me. My family and I watch his shows all the time. The boys even impersonate him with their “crikey” comments.

Such a sad loss. Bendi is doing a great job by honoring her father by growing into his shoes.

Steve Irwin definately left a clear legacy, I think the family are doing a great job of allowing that legacy lives on….I suppose that allows him to live on in their lives too…

Dear Terri, I want you to know how much I loved your family. I cried the morning I heard steve was killed. He was great. I think about him still today. He inspired me. I don’t just live life, I LIVE life because of him. You have beautiful children and one of my dreams is to meet you some day. You are also my hero. You are a strong brave woman. May god bless you always, Paula Mcgee

Paula – I think you express the thoughts of many people. It always appears strange that this world seems to see the loss of the good guys…..
