Widows Quest

I have achieved my goal!

As readers will know at the start of the year, I decided to take action on the weight I had put on. I set myself a target of losing 56lbs and with Heather Gorringe, a friend that I had met on line, we started to blog and podcast  actuallogo300x300.jpg about our journey, on Middle Age Shed. It was scary at first – I can so remember saying my weight for the first time – ouch!

Well the great news is that I have reached my target and have lost 57.5lbs. I still feel that I have a little more to lost so I want to lose a further 5lbs to feel totally happy with my weight.

This feels like an incredible personal achievement and give me 4 learnings

  • Valuing yourself is important in rebuilding your life.
  • Friends are vital in supporting you. I can honestly say I would not have done it without Heather.
  • Online friends are a part of my life now.
  • Having a goal, a target can really motivate you. It gives you a focus, an energy that keeps the momentum going.

Congratulations on reaching your goal! I know it must have been tough saying your weight for the first time, I know I’m still having trouble with that one even though I’ve already lost 13 of my 60 pound goal. Hope you can continue to lose to get your ideal weight, based on how far you’ve come I have no doubt in my mind that you’ll be 100% satisfied when you get there!

Good Luck with the rest of your journey and an extended good luck in keeping it off!

Thanks, feels good. Join us over at Middle Age Shed we have got a really good community who have helped enormously. In some ways the final few pounds are the hardest!
