If you struggle to sleep…

I write another blog called The Engaging Brand and we have been discussing dreaming…

This reminded me of how my mum struggled to sleep in the bedroom she had shared with my dad. To help her, we moved her bed to another room, for the short term. This really helped, and helped her to get the sleep that she needed to have the energy to get through the days. When I related this story to a friend she said that when she lost her husband she also struggled to sleep – the memories were all so clear and intensely painful. She moved to another bedroom and made the other one into a “snug” where she could go to read and listen to music. It helped her remember John (her husband) and made the room a place of comfort.

My mum has now moved back now she is stronger and sees it as a happy place where she remembers him…if your bedroom is too painful think about moving in the short term or indeed turning it into more of a comfort room.

Thanks to Sue for sharing her way of coping with grief….
