Lessons for Widows from a Jumbo Jet!

Bereavement makes you feel that you will never “fly”again, you know the feelings that I mean..that feeling of being in love and being loved. You feel that you are almost flying, you will free..you feel happy.
When a Jumbo Jet has an emergency landing, – like our feeling when we lost our partner – it takes the time to
- Ensure that it is fit to fly, it has a health check on the engines etc
- It prepares for its next flight

- It does not go straight to flying…it needs to build up speed, build up strength on the runway to fly again.
- The pilot doesn’t fear having another emergency landing, they think of the beauty of flying again…
I think there are real parallels here for widows and widowers. We have felt the beauty of flying, we are now on the ground and need time to turn ourselves around for the next flight…but just like that jumbo jet, we were born to fly, born to love…yes we could stay on the ground and not risk another emergency landing…but would we be truly happy?
