Today marks an historic day not just for America but also the world. I listened to Obama’s speech and took away the folllowing for us all at Widows Quest
This is a tough road, there are no easy answers.
But there is hope.
Hope lies in us all taking responsibility and standing by our values, standing together and making creating the future that we want.
These words may have been meant for the US population however I believe there are huge lessons for us all. Grief can feel never ending, grief is an incredibly rocky road however when we dig deep into our human emotions we will find the strength to SOMEHOW overcome the problems and find a path to happiness.
Today is one of hope, today we can dig into that hope felt for the world and feed off that hope in our own lives.

Anna, I feel incredibly hopeful today. I went to a discussion group I attend called Fully Alive. We discuss ways to make our lives better and how to experience life to its fullest. There were twelve of us there and everyone came in smiling and hopeful. Some had just watched President Obama’s speech, others were going home to watch the replay later but to a person we all felt wonderful. This man is an inspiration. Look at where he came from and what his hard work and determination has done. I think we can all take a lesson from this.
I just hope that we are not – as a world putting too much expectation on him but time will tell for the moment I think the world needs hope and he is a beacon of hope. I wish I had been in Washington to see this historic event, but I can tell you even from the UK the ripples of expectations are flowing….
You are so right Anna, as an American I am a bit worried that the world is expecting too much too fast from this man who has to work with a sometimes very stubborn legislative branch and overcome some huge obstacles. I like Leslie enjoyed the hopefulness of the moment and the day but am now praying that we all find our patience and realize he is just human. I am confident that we will see improvement just not overnight. I sat watching thinking of what Dave would have thought and his reaction to what has happened the six months he has been gone, I imagine I will do that often as my life progresses.

I think it is just okay to be a little worried about the achievement of President Obama. Psychologically it is natural, the truth however is that there is a growing movement all over the world been inspired by the audacity of this man. Just yesterday, at one of the growing National Transformation Stakeholders Group for my country (Nigeria), the Obama story was used as a backdrop to develop the vision and opeartional strategy. If this is perhaps all he can give us, I think he has been used by God. Can you imaging the volume of thoughts and content that is in the cyberspace because of this man. This is perhaps the greatest contribution one life can make to a generation. I hope a professional psychologst can help analyse the dimension of development that has happened to the human brain because of the “O” Factor. School Children in “My World” are exposed to analysing his speeches. WOW! This is phenomena! Lets take the courage and make the move, take a step and encourage someone else to do same. All that humanity needs really is inspiration to stregthen our beliefs in other to achieve. My organisation’s is building a fast growing network called- “My World” (A social entrepreneur safety net for Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) based community organizers] and its amazing how professionals are now embrasssing “Personal Social Responsibilities” as the ONLY way to build a good REPUTATION CAPITAL and a Sustainable Career.
This is the NEW ORDER we are talking about, the work will be done by us. We have been inspired by him and our motto & logo is: “…roll up your sleeve…”
The golden, historic line and perhaphs the greatest Executive Order signed by President Obama is in those few lines captured by Anna.
