The news of the death of Paul Newman was announced this weekend. It struck me that he was only one year younger than my wonderful Dad - though Mr Newman had slightly more on the sex appeal front!
I pass my thoughts on to the family who no doubt are grieving a terrific loss from their lives. He will live on in his films and also his generous charity work, all of which makes him much more than a movie star. Paul Newman was a gentleman who showed that power and celebrity does NOT have to change you – a gentleman who used his wealth to help others – his Newman’s Own food label, for example, donated all profits and royalties to charity, about $250 million so far.
Paul Newman, one of the good guys, we will miss you, we will miss your heart and passion but your family should be proud of the humanitarian legacy that you leave for the world.

The death of someone who is dear to you is a big blow. In fact it is a hard not to crack when you suddenly receive such an unfortunate news. But what can we say. The climbing of the ladder of death is inevitable. No one can challenge the plans of the Creator. If Has will it, who are we to deny it? For us Christians, death is not the end, we hope to rise again and enjoy that place the Lord Jesus has promised us. What we have to do now is pray for our departed brothers and sister so that God forgive them their sins and grant them eternal rest in His kingdom. Those of us who are still alive must lead a decent life so that we can merit the kingdom on the last day.
Joseph so true. I must admit I am not sure where I stand with my faith, I want to believe as I was brought up with the Church and yet somehow my faith has been shaken. However, I believe the words that you say are true whatever your faith, whatever your beliefs. Thank you for stopping by…the more friends here the better
