Pets are a wonderful source of love

Do you ever have that feeling of loneliness? Do you ever feel alone? I know I do. I feel lucky as I have 3 cats - Molly, Mabel and Harry. I never meant to have cats but unfortunately - or fortunately! - I have many farmer friends who do not want the farm cats offsprings…I just cannot see them killed, so I take them home.
But one thing that I have found is that they give me a wonderful sense of love. They seem to love me no matter what….
Harry sleeps next to me, cuddled up and provides that love and warmth that makes me feel needed. Molly is older, the princess of the group and just follows me around. Mabel is nervous, over time she has learned to trust me. She won’t go near anyone else…..she has that wonderful knack of making me feel special because she wants me and no one else. ![]()
I know this sounds stupid and honestly I do know they are cats! But ultimately they are providing support, filling that gap deep inside of me to look after or nurture….they are helping me through the grief process.
A pet may not be the answer to many of you, but for me I owe them a huge debt of gratitude….through them I still feel that sense of love.

Oh, Anna, how right you are.
My, Miss Diva, a calico cat I rescued is such a pleasure. At one point someone suggested I “get rid of her”, but thank goodness that was another bit of “advice” from an “untrustworthy” source, I didn’t trust it.
Yes, pets offer us that unconditional love…my sweet daughters were so afraid I would become a cat woman, but no worries, Miss Diva fills my world.
Thanks, Anna,
Beth

I think that feeling of being needed - even for cat food! - helps to fill that gap inside. I also love the warmth of a hug, no one will ever tell me that cats are not loyal….they do sense when you are down and give you that love that you need. Like you I never meant to be a cat lover, but how I have benefited from their presence in my life
