“ As the coffin represents a final resting place for many humans, it makes sense that they should reflect the lives of the people they were designed for, a great example being the eco-friendly coffins for treehuggers and Star Trek coffins for the geek set.”

I read on trendhunter an article looking at coffins and it says

“ As the coffin represents a final resting place for many humans, it makes sense that they should reflect the lives of the people they were designed for, a great example being the eco-friendly coffins for treehuggers and Star Trek coffins for the geek set.”

It made me think about when I chose the coffin, I hated it. To me it was an empty, wooden box that did not reflect his personality, did not reflect a person but I felt a death. Coffins are strange…on one hand I think they are incredibly expensive and on the other they are the final resting place. Maybe if I had seen these creative ones, I could have felt better about leaving him inside that box….oh I tear well up when I think of that…

Do you know as a child I never realised that anyone was inside, I thought they were symbolic….I think for me I will have the cheapest coffin going….let people enjoy that little bit of money on a party to celebrate my life…either that or an iPod shaped one as the music and podcasts have so helped me through my grief.
