Holding Grief Can Be Warm

When I look back at the grief, I sometimes wonder whether why we move on slowly is because grief can feel warm. Somehow holding on to that grief, or holding the pain close can be comforting? Is that just me or do other widows or widowers feel the same?
The memories you have through your grief can feel warm, can help you feel connected with your loved one. If you take that grief away then loneliness can take a grip in your mind. What is it about grief that is warm?

I was wondering whether we could come up with a recipe for grief, for protecting that little old heart of ours from the pain of bereavement and losing the love of our lives? Here is my starter for 10, feel free to leave a comment on anything that may be missing

1 Hug per day
1 Box of Tissues to let the pain out
2 Pairs of Ears to listen without judgement
Several gasps of fresh air each day
1 Cushion to hold through the night
10 Photo albums to keep the memories alive

Loving and losing is better than never loving at all

I met an old lady whilst travelling yesterday. She was 86 and said that her biggest hope is that she finds love…she had never fallen in love in her life. She had been very protected by her family, and then when she had left home all the “men were taken”
