Remembrance Poem – Never too young not to forget

I read this today on a BBC website, it is a poem by a 9 year old called Joshua Peters
Heaven is all around, Life in War 1914-1918
Lying without motion on the ground
The lost ones have been found.
The dead have been crowned.
Heaven is all around.
Those soldiers fought in war
With the Devil at their doors.
Now without a sound,
Heaven is all around.
Don’t leave them there, for God’s sake,
End their loved ones ache.
Heaven is here.
How lovely that a nine year old can express such wonderful words on a war that happened almost a century ago.

Most Popular Songs Played at Funerals

I was wondering how songs are changing and which are the most popular songs. CBC says the following funeral songs were the most popular

Goodbye My Lover, James Blunt.

I’ve Had the Time of My Life, Jennifer Warnes and Bill Medley
Wind Beneath My Wings, Bette Midler
Pie Jesu, Requiem
Candle in the Wind, Elton John
With or Without You, U2
Tears from Heaven, Eric Clapton
Every Breath You Take, The Police
Unchained Melody, Righteous Brothers

Do you know when I go, I would want a happy song…one to make you smile or one that was upbeat. I  want people to celebrate my life not miss me. …read more

A Stairway to Heaven
