Widows Quest

The Hug Story

May 29, 2007 by Anna Farmery

I was babysitting and my friend’s little girl came and sat on my knee. She looked at me and said “When I lost my baby rabbit, I was upset but then I went and got a bandage for my heart. They are great in helping you feel better.”  sunset.jpg

Intrigued I said “A bandage? Have you got one for me?”

She looked, moved closer and gave me a huge hug….”There you are a pain bandage, I bet you feel better now”

I smiled, don’t kids just explain things so well!

Lovely story! The inspirational movie Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep, on my new bereavement site, might make you feel better too…

Thank you Lucie, don’t children just seem to make you smile with their innocence

I agree the innocents of a child makes you smile. My fiancé’s mom was crying in her office and her 7 year old daughter came in and asked what was wrong. She said that she missed Josh so much, he daughter looked at her and said “Why mom, he’s in the living room?” His urn is in her living room in a cabinet, and she knew his ashes were in there. Every time I start to really miss him I think about what she said.
