Widows Quest

When to make life changing decisions

I remember my mum after my dad had died, people started saying “Are you going to sell the house?”, and asking questions about other life changing decisions.

I strongly believe that you should not make any decisions during the grieving process, otherwise you may regret it. I remember mum saying “Maybe I should the house is too big just for me” A few years on, Mum is glad she didn’t get bullied into making a decision because now she feels a real attachment to the house, she feels he is still with her.

People will try and rush you, but take time to make the decision right for you. During the months after their passing, you are grieving I don’t believe that you are in the best mental place to make a life decision. Take time – if you can -and see how you feel. You will know when the time is right…..
