Widows Quest

Words of Love

September 9, 2006 by Anna Farmery

These words are quite famous and believed to be from an Indian source, but I always keep them by the side of my bed – hope they help you.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep

I am the thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glint on snow

I am the sunlight on ripened grain

I am the gentle autumnal rain

When you waken in the morning hush

I am the soft uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight

I am the soft stars that shine at night

So stand not at my grave and cry,

I am not there, I did not die”

That is exactly the poem I wanted to send my sister-in-law about the death of her mother. I think it will bring great comfort to her.
