Your Love, Your Rock

I said that I would share stories that I have learned whilst being in hospital. On the ward with me is a lovely older lady who lost her husband a couple of years ago. We were talking about grief and she said that being ill scared her. I asked why, and she said”Because my rock is no longer here to hold my hand and say that everything will be OK. The strange thing is that I was the rock in our relationship, the strong one…but my strength came through our love“
She had tears in her eyes, as she described how they met and how he was taken from her. I asked if she had any advice for people reading Widows Quest and she said“Remember love does not come and go, remember true love is eternal”

Dear Anna,
When you mentioned you were feeling cold on Facebook, were you starting to feel ill then, and that was a symptom? I’m thinking of you and wishing you well.
Oh, how I can relate to the words of your fellow patient. I’m not sure if I was the rock or Michael was. I think we took turns for one another. Loving him made me a better and stronger person.
Hugs,
Mary
Anna – Sorry, I had not read the blog in the past few days. I am so sorry about your hospitalization and hope that you are out (and feeling better) very soon.
(I had some other drivel in here, but then realized that I had pulled the discussion on to moi and – this is supposed to be about YOU! and I hit the magic Delete key.) So I am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way – for a good, quick diagnosis that involves oh, maybe, a little prescription and most importantly, your discharge from the hospital and a return to your OWN home. Hugs and blessings to you!
Thank you, wish I could report I was out but still stuck in here…7 days and counting. Jessica you made me laugh about the drivel! You know how much all of the comments cheer me up…they are never drivel!
Do you know on the rock front….don’t you think that you don’t really know until you lose someone, where you get your strength from?
